City Wide Road Resurfacing
As roads age, exposure to sun, traffic, and general wear and tear can cause deterioration. To maintain safe and smooth streets, the City of Kissimmee is undertaking a citywide Road Resurfacing Project to restore and improve roadway conditions.
About the Project
The Road Resurfacing Project involves removing the top layer of existing asphalt, applying a new base coat, and repaving the surface to extend the lifespan of our roads. This process enhances safety, improves driving conditions, and ensures the City of Kissimmee’s streets remain in good shape for years to come.
What to Expect
- Schedule: Work will take place throughout the year, primarily Monday through Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. Some roads may be scheduled based on upcoming projects by Toho Water Authority to coordinate infrastructure improvements.
- Traffic Impacts: Residents and commuters should expect temporary lane shifts, lane closures, road closures, and detours. Signal flaggers may be used to guide traffic through work zones.
- Emergency Access: Emergency vehicles and first responders will always have access to affected areas.
- Driveway Access: Temporary restrictions may occur, but crews will work to minimize disruptions.
