Downtown Kissimmee Shines Bright for the Holiday Season

 The City of Kissimmee is set to shine bright this holiday season as the community transforms into a festive winter wonderland during the Festival of Lights, a free, citywide holiday celebration taking place from November 29 through January 6.

Thousands of sparkling lights will illuminate Broadway, nearby streets, and the scenic Kissimmee Lakefront Park, creating a beautiful backdrop for families, couples, and visitors to explore, shop, and celebrate the holiday season with special events and promotions hosted by local businesses and restaurants.

This season-long celebration features events that highlight the joy and spirit of the holidays:

• Tree Lighting Ceremony – November 29: The City of Kissimmee’s Christmas Tree will be illuminated for the first time this year at the City Hall Rain Garden (101 Church St.) starting at 7 p.m. The event includes live holiday performances, festive treats, and a special visit from Santa. City leaders invite residents and visitors to help count down to the lighting of the tree.
  
  
• KUA Movie in the Park – December 5: Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a family-friendly holiday movie under the stars at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with free inflatables, crafts, a photo booth, and prize giveaways, followed by a holiday movie on the big screen at 7 p.m. 
  
  
• Jingle Bar Hop – December 12: Sip, stroll, and celebrate Downtown Kissimmee’s festive nightlife with a special holiday edition of the pub crawl hosted by Kissimmee Main Street. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy themed drinks, entertainment, and holiday fun with friends. (Ages 21 and up.)
  
  
• Festival of Lights Parade – December 13: One of Kissimmee’s most cherished holiday traditions returns with illuminated floats, marching bands, and live entertainment. The celebration begins with a Holiday Festival from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall, featuring pictures with Santa, hot chocolate stations, ornament decorating with AdventHealth, the KUA Kids Power Zone, and festive photo spots. The parade begins at 7:30 p.m., lighting up the streets of Downtown Kissimmee with holiday cheer. Community groups, schools, and local businesses are invited to join the celebration as parade registration is now open at kissimmee.gov/folparade.

Adding even more holiday cheer, Kissimmee Main Street’s Holiday Market will take place every weekend throughout the season, offering holiday treats, handmade gifts, local art, and festive photo opportunities. The market will be open on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing visitors with numerous opportunities to experience the sights and sounds of the season.

The City of Kissimmee invites everyone to experience the magic of the season in Downtown Kissimmee nightly through January 6 and enjoy the lights, festive displays, and community spirit that make Kissimmee shine brighter during the holidays.

El Centro de Kissimmee Brilla en la Temporada Navideña

La Ciudad de Kissimmee se prepara para brillar esta temporada navideña, transformando la comunidad en un mágico paisaje invernal durante el Festival de Luces, una celebración navideña gratuita en toda la ciudad que se llevará a cabo del 29 de noviembre al 6 de enero.

Miles de luces iluminarán Broadway, las calles cercanas y el pintoresco Kissimmee Lakefront Park, creando un hermoso escenario para que familias, parejas y visitantes puedan explorar, comprar y disfrutar de la temporada con eventos especiales y promociones organizadas por negocios y restaurantes locales.

Esta celebración que se extiende durante toda la temporada presenta eventos que destacan la alegría y el espíritu de las fiestas:

• Ceremonia de Encendido del Árbol – 29 de noviembre: El Árbol de Navidad de la Ciudad de Kissimmee se encenderá por primera vez este año en el Jardín de Lluvia de la Alcaldía (101 Church St.) a partir de las 7 p.m. El evento incluirá presentaciones en vivo, delicias festivas y una visita especial de Santa. Los líderes de la ciudad invitan a los residentes y visitantes a participar en la cuenta regresiva para encender el árbol.
  
  
• Película en el Parque con KUA – 5 de diciembre: Trae tus mantas y sillas y disfruta de una película navideña familiar bajo las estrellas en Kissimmee Lakefront Park. La diversión comienza a las 5:30 p.m. con inflables gratuitos, manualidades, una cabina de fotos y sorteos de premios, seguida de una película navideña en pantalla grande a las 7 p.m.
  
  
• Recorrido Navideño por Bares – 12 de diciembre: Disfruta, pasea y celebra la animada vida nocturna del centro de Kissimmee con una edición especial navideña del recorrido de bares, organizada por Kissimmee Main Street. De 6 p.m. a 9 p.m., disfruta de bebidas temáticas, entretenimiento y diversión festiva con amigos. (Para mayores de 21 años).
  
  
• Desfile del Festival de Luces – 13 de diciembre: Una de las tradiciones más queridas de Kissimmee regresa con carrozas iluminadas, bandas de marcha y entretenimiento en vivo. La celebración comienza con un Festival Navideño de 4 p.m. a 7 p.m. en la Alcaldía, con actividades como fotos con Santa, estaciones de chocolate caliente, decoración de adornos con AdventHealth, la Zona  de Diversión Infantil de KUA y espacios festivos para fotos. El desfile inicia a las 7:30 p.m., llenando las calles del centro de Kissimmee de alegría navideña. Se invita a grupos comunitarios, escuelas y negocios locales a participar; las inscripciones para el desfile ya están abiertas en kissimmee.gov/folparade.

Para añadir aún más espíritu navideño, el Mercado Navideño de Kissimmee Main Street se realizará todos los fines de semana durante la temporada, ofreciendo delicias típicas, regalos artesanales, arte local y oportunidades para tomar fotos festivas. El mercado estará abierto los viernes de 4 p.m. a 9 p.m. y los sábados de 11 a.m. a 4 p.m., brindando múltiples oportunidades para disfrutar de los colores y sonidos de la temporada.
