Roof Replacement Program

Do you need help replacing a damaged roof?

The City of Kissimmee’s Housing & Community Development Division offers assistance to eligible homeowners through the Roof Replacement Program. This program helps qualifying households replace a damaged roof with up to $40,000 in assistance paid directly to the contractor.

The assistance is provided as a five year deferred forgivable loan at zero percent interest. No repayment is required as long as the loan remains in good standing.

Funding is limited, and applicants will first be provided a pre application to begin the process.

Step 1.Confirm that your property is within City of Kissimmee limits

Although your address may say Kissimmee, you might be in unincorporated Osceola County, where housing and community development services are handled by the Osceola County Housing & Community Services Department. Make sure you're in Kissimmee city limits before you continue.

Step 2.Review the program requirements

To be eligible for the Roof Replacement Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • The home must be located within the City limits of Kissimmee
  • The property must be owner occupied
  • The property must be owned with fee simple title
  • All mortgages, taxes, and special assessments must be current and paid
  • The property must be free of liens and judgments
  • The household must meet the income requirements for the program

Step 3.Submit pre-qualification application

Residents may request an application to begin the pre application process. Because funding is limited, submitting a request does not guarantee assistance.

Step 4.Complete the application process

After your request is received, Housing & Community Development staff will provide the next steps and any required documentation to move through the application and eligibility review process. Qualified applicants will be contacted with additional program information. This mirrors the City’s current housing assistance workflow, which begins with pre qualification before staff follow up and next steps.

Step 5.What the program provides

Eligible homeowners may receive up to $40,000 toward roof replacement costs. Funds are paid to the contractor for the replacement of the roof. Assistance is offered as a five year deferred forgivable loan with zero percent interest. No repayment is required as long as the loan remains in good standing.
